Pub Walks

The best kind of walk ends at a pub. These routes are designed around a good lunch stop--work up an appetite, reward yourself properly.

The Wey's pubs are spaced at convenient intervals for walkers. A morning's walk can deliver you to a riverside garden in time for lunch; an afternoon stroll can end with a pint as the light fades.

Our pub walks combine the best stretches of towpath with good stopping points. Some are linear (catch a train or bus back), others circular. All include timing suggestions so you arrive when the kitchen's open.

Tips for planning your own

Check opening times before you set out--some pubs close on Mondays or don't serve food certain days. Book for Sunday lunch at popular spots. Allow 2-3 miles per hour on the flat towpath, more if you're dawdling. And leave time to linger--what's the rush?
